GSA Building 53

Located on the Denver Federal Center campus, GSA Building 53 holds a storied past. Originally constructed in 1941 as part of the Denver Ordnance Plant and later completed by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1969, the building was designed as a fortified hub for federal operations during a nuclear attack. Today, it serves as a vital federal office and lab space, blending its historical significance with modern functionality.

Scope: Installation of over 450,000 square feet of flooring materials across office, lab, and warehouse spaces.

Addressed extensive water damage caused by multiple flooding incidents. Developed innovative solutions for restoring and preparing 80-year-old damaged parquet flooring and asphalt tar for new product installation.

Team Excellence: Floorz’s dedication and expertise ensured a seamless transition from historical preservation to modern usability, enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of this historic building. In addition, JE Dunn received the highest rating by GSA since 1969.
