SCL Health Lutheran Medical Center
In 2021, SCL Health broke ground on the replacement hospital for Lutheran Medical Center to meet the growing demand for high-quality healthcare in the western metro areas of Golden, Wheat Ridge, and Arvada. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to elevate patient care and comfort, combining innovative medical technology with thoughtful, patient-centered design.
Two of our studios, Slate and Floorz, played pivotal roles in bringing this vision to life, delivering high-quality solutions that balance functionality, aesthetics, and performance.
Floorz contributed to the 300,000-square-foot facility by installing an extensive array of flooring solutions, including sheet vinyl, tile, and carpeted areas. A standout feature of the project was the use of sheet vinyl across all patient-facing spaces. To ensure a seamless and hygienic finish, the team meticulously self-leveled the fiber-reinforced concrete floors, achieving an impressive flatness tolerance within 1/8″. This precision work not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal but also ensured the durability and ease of maintenance required for a healthcare setting.
Slate outfitted 220 patient rooms on an ambitious 12-week installation schedule, providing furniture that complements the hospital’s mission of patient care and comfort. The designs, crafted by lead designers Rachel and Carrie, were praised for their beauty and functionality.
